Michael Lichterman

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Michael has a lifetime love of photography. His move to the Cleveland area led him to meet the Nortons and later take over their very successful photography studio. This has allowed Michael to avidly pursue his passion for photography in addition to fulfilling a lifelong dream.

Michael’s exploration of photography began as a youth. His father’s interest in photography sparked an interest and Michael accepted the position as photographer for his school newspaper and worked on the year-book staff in lay-out. When time and opportunities permitted he assisted professional photographers on photo shoots and with wedding photography. Michael has earned awards for his camera work and was published early on in a photography encyclopedia.

This interest in photography continued as a hobby throughout his professional career. Michael took every opportunity to photograph family and friends. He accepted many requests to photograph Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and more in his spare time. This continued until 1992 when he met Don Norton. They became friends and in 1994, Michael enthusiastically agreed to take over and learn the Norton’s well-respected photography business.

Since purchasing the Studio, Michael has and continues to study with other wedding and portrait photographers. He attends seminars, conferences, and trade shows regularly throughout the year. These present the opportunity to refine his art of the camera and lighting to find the perfect pose to showcase the individuals he photographs.
